Alexandria (Ali) Hansen joined the Fresno Discovery Center Board of Directors in 2019. She recently moved to the Fresno area to work at Fresno State as an Assistant Professor of Science Education. She is passionate about making science accessible to everyone.

 

Originally from Southern California, Ali earned her B.S. in Biology from UC Irvine before entering the teaching workforce. She taught middle school science and mathematics at an underserved school in Los Angeles for several years before pursuing graduate school at UC Santa Barbara where she earned her Ph.D. in 2018. Her research broadly investigates K-12 STEM education and teacher education.

 

Outside of teaching and research, Ali enjoys practicing yoga and baking sweet treats for family and friends. She lives with her husband and fluffy terrier.
