Lori C. Hunter
Board of Directors, Member
Lori says, "I'm an organizer, it's what I do. I'm the go-to and get-it-done person - it's just how I'm built". She's been doing exactly that since joining the Board of Directors in early 2017, in order to lend a hand towards fundraising and development efforts. After three months, she was voted in as Vice President of the Board of Directors and transitioned to Executive Director in February of 2018.
Lori brings many years of non-profit experience to the Fresno Discovery Center, previously working with organizations such as the Catholic Diocese of Fresno, Poverello House and most recently, Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, where she wore many hats, including managing Chabot's Membership program as well as contributing to donor relations. Lori's background in the museum world brings a new perspective and a much-needed new vision to the Fresno Discovery Center.
Lori and her family moved back to Fresno in late 2016, only a stones-throw away from the Fresno Discovery Center in the Sunnyside area of Fresno. When she isn't working, she spends her time with her husband, Robert, visiting the many family members in the Fresno area, reading books, watching movies, along with playing and caring for their 5 rescue cats, "The Fab 5".
